Medical Coding - ICD-9 Classes offered and Independent Study

A six-module self-paced computer tutorial that teaches ICD-9 coding. Students complete exercises, work through nine actual case studies, and take comprehensive module tests. Student text/workbook provides additional exercises and includes instruction in CPT coding. Prerequisite: Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology. [30 hours]

Medical Terminology (Independent Study)

Self-paced training utilizing CD-ROM multimedia technology for gaining basic knowledge of medical terminology by integrating color, audio, video, animation, and interactive exercises to promote understanding. Students are able to plot their own study plan and activate self tests to evaluate comprehension. A comprehensive text-workbook with computer disk is included. Extensive home study is required. [30 hours ]
